Does CIL do airport pickups?

If you've opted to stay in our accommodation, yes. You will be picked up by either our driver or a CIL-designated driver. If you are staying outside of our accommodation, you can request to be picked up by us for an additional fee.

How should I dress in Oman?

Oman is a Muslim country and hence we ask that our students always be modestly dressed. Sleeves should be of minimum three quarters in length and bottoms should be at least till the ankles. Please avoid wearing clothes that are too tight or sheer.  For swimming occasions, male students should wear knee-length shorts and female students should wear their bathing suit under their clothes.

What kind of payment methods are accepted?

Wire transfer (details will be mentioned in your invoice) and/or cash. We only accept local checks as banks in Oman have stopped accepting international ones. Debit/credit cards are currently not accepted.

Where can I find the bank wiring information?

You can find it at the bottom of your invoice. This will be sent to you once you have completed the four pre-decision questionnaires on your Terra Dotta application (IAP/MESP applicants) or submitted your Google form application (PT/PF applicants).

Can I pay in cash once I arrive?

Yes, you can but only in Omani Rial (OMR). If you have cash in another currency, you can either exchange it at the airport or from a money exchange center close to CIL.

Are there any ATMs near CIL?

Yes but please do inform your bank before you arrive to Oman that you will be using your card abroad. Also, please ask your bank about your maximum withdrawal limit.

Can I pay in cash in USD ?

We only accept OMR in cash payments but if you do not have local currency notes at the time of payment, then you can exchange your dollars at the bank or money exchange centers. There is a money exchange store just 3-5 minutes drive away from CIL.

NOTE: Dollar notes dated before 2009 will NOT be accepted by banks or money exchange stores here in Oman.

Can I register for more than one program?

Yes, you can. If you want to enroll in multiple IAPs, then please create separate applications for each on Terra Dotta
